Pay Range: $43.74 – $54.08 hourly.
Position Summary
The Anesthesia Assistant provides anesthesia and sedation support to physicians within the Anesthesia Care Team at CHEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Anesthesiologist with induction of anesthesia, monitor placement, intravenous cannulation, arterial and central venous line insertion, drug administration, airway management, intubation, and laryngeal mask airway placement.
- Provide conscious sedation, administer anesthetic gases and medications, insert and manage arterial lines, and assess depth of anesthesia under supervision.
- Assist with cardiac surgery and catheterization cases, including preparation of vasoactive medications and provision of nitric oxide.
- Administer blood products and facilitate transport for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
