Job Description
Lead the engineering team at Seaspan Marine as a Chief Engineer in Kitimat, BC. Oversee machinery operation, maintenance, and compliance with safety regulations on board our vessels.
The Chief Engineer is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of all vessel systems. With at least five years of relevant experience, you will manage machinery readiness and compliance with Transport Canada regulations. This role requires an understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures while mentoring junior engineers and maintaining accurate logs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the engineering watch and all machinery operations
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns efficiently
• Maintain propulsion, auxiliary, and safety equipment
• Coordinate with external contractors for onboard repairs
