Job Description
Overview
The Clinical Extern Program is an extraordinary opportunity available to nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing program entering into their last years of study. As an Unregulated Health Care Provider, the extern will support the development of clinical skills, critical thinking, and clinical understanding while performing fundamental patient care duties.
Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental patient care duties under the guidance of a staff nurse and manager.
- Assist with the functioning of the nursing team at the patient care level.
- Apply privacy and confidentiality standards and contribute to a person‑focused, positive patient and family experience.
- Collaborate within an interprofessional team environment.
- Adhere to the model of care and observe the roles of RN and RPN.
