Job Description
The Department of Health is responsible for health services and social programming in Nunavut. Staff work to improve the health and well‑being of Nunavummiut by addressing community needs through culturally appropriate programs and services.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive community health services in partnership with the health care team within a primary health care context.
- Make decisions regarding client management, including crisis management and facilitation of referrals in consultation with supervisors and other professionals.
- Arrange safe client transport in consultation with supervisors and other health care professionals, and act as a medical escort when required.
- Apply the nursing process to assess individuals, families, or community clients; identify needs; develop programs and services; and implement health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
