Consultant Anaesthetist

We are looking to appoint a Consultant Anaesthetist to complement a department of over 40 people in a busy District General Hospital. On‑call commitments will cover ICU, which has 10 beds and approximately 400 level 3 patients admitted annually.

We provide anaesthesia and critical care for a wide range of specialty surgery including Robotics, General Surgery, Breast, ENT, Maxillofacial, Obstetrics, Gynaecology (general and oncology), Trauma and Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Paediatrics. Day surgery is performed at a stand‑alone unit in Dunfermline. We also provide support to an on‑site National Treatment Centre for elective Orthopaedic work.

NHS Fife has an active postgraduate medical centre with fully stocked libraries and a comprehensive teaching programme with close links to Dundee, Edinburgh and St Andrews Medical Schools. Personal development is encouraged, as we are keen for individuals to pursue and develop special interests.
