Course Lecturer – Introductory Arabic (ISLA 221/D1 001)
The Institute of Islamic Studies is hiring a Course Lecturer to teach ISLA 221/D1 001: Introductory Arabic for the Fall 2026 term. The course provides an introduction to Modern Standard Arabic, covering pronunciation, reading, writing of the Arabic script, and basic speaking and comprehension in the present tense.
Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly instruction (MTWRF 08:35‑09:25) for 4.5 credit hours.
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
- Provide feedback to students and maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications
- M.A. or Ph.D. in Arabic linguistics, literature, or a related field.
