Job Overview
Design Engineer – Permanent, Full‑time position in the Design & Asset Management group of Public Works, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), 40 Alderney Drive, Dartmouth.
Reports to the Design Engineer Supervisor and is responsible for the design, project management, and tendering of complex municipal engineering projects, including new construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure such as streets, roads, sidewalks, curbs, pavement, traffic signals, intersection improvements, active transportation infrastructure, guiderails, retaining walls, storm sewers, bridges, and integrated projects with utilities (Halifax Water, Eastward Energy, Nova Scotia Power, and telecommunications).

- Conduct advanced studies, design, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for assigned Capital Projects, ensuring compliance with governing regulations, guidelines, and coordination of technical staff and interest holders.
