Population and Public Health (PPH) dietitians are registered professionals who work collaboratively with community, municipal, and provincial partners to improve the health and well‑being of Albertans through evidence-based nutrition strategies. Operating across diverse settings such as schools, health centres, childcare facilities, and communities, they focus on supporting populations at greater risk of poor health outcomes, including children, families, newcomers, and Indigenous peoples. Their role involves engaging stakeholders, influencing policies and practices, and embedding healthy eating strategies into various systems and environments. PPH dietitians collect and analyze nutrition‑related data, evaluate program effectiveness, and apply research, local context, and lived experiences to guide decision‑making.
