Role Overview
As an Environment Inspector with the Compliance Division, you will protect and promote the sustainable use of air, land, and water resources in Nova Scotia. The role involves enforcing regulations, responding to complaints, and ensuring compliance in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and audits of facilities to ensure compliance with regulations and approvals.
- Inspect in response to complaints and environmental emergencies.
- Promote compliance by providing education and guidance to clients.
- Write letters, reports, and prepare ministerial briefings.
- Explain technical concepts to a wide variety of audiences.
- Draft terms and conditions for approvals.
- Support enforcement actions by gathering evidence and providing testimony in court.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
