Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: You will serve as the Engineering Division and Middle East District staff specialist and authority in fire prevention, fire protection, and life safety engineering. Responsibilities You will serve as a design engineer, responsible for coordinating or monitoring, planning, and design efforts for Fire Protection and Life Safety systems or facilities being constructed in the SWM area of responsibility. Review studies, scopes of work, and preliminary, pre-final, and final design plans and specifications prepared in-house and by Architect-Engineers. Interpret, adapt and apply numerous guidelines, foreign codes, precedents, and engineering principles and practices to determine most feasible design or possible alternative solutions.
