THE IMPACT OF THIS ROLE
The General Accountant is responsible for managing the daily cash flow of the hotel, ensuring the proper handling of cash transactions, and overseeing payroll processing. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and compliance with financial policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles all cash collections, deposits, and disbursements in a secure and organized manner.
- Performs daily cash counts and reconciles cash holdings against system reports.
- Prepares daily bank deposits and maintains accurate records of cash transactions.
- Monitors and maintains adequate change funds for operational needs.
- Ensures compliance with cash-handling policies and internal controls.
- Works closely with Front Office and other departments to resolve any cash-related discrepancies.
