GMAW Fabrication Specialist
Picture your day on the floor: you review a print, lay out steel with precision, set your MIG parameters, and run clean, consistent beads in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. You verify fit-up, check tolerances with micrometers and calipers, and record your results so the next operator knows exactly where things stand. When something isn’t right, you stop, contain the issue, and alert your lead immediately. That combination of craftsmanship and accountability is what we’re looking for.
What you’ll do- Lay out, position, and secure components to spec using jigs/fixtures, then tack and complete welds with GMAW and other processes as needed.
- Interpret engineering drawings and follow defined weld symbols, sequences, and assembly requirements.
- Dial in equipment settings (voltage, amperage, wire speed, shielding gas) to achieve the required arc characteristics and penetration.
