Job Description
Embark on a journey in publishing as an Editorial Intern with HarperCollins Canada based in Toronto (hybrid). This full-time internship is designed for recent graduates eager to learn about the industry.
In this three-month position, you will collaborate with the Editorial team, gaining insights into the publishing process from initial acquisition to publication. You will engage in various tasks such as attending meetings, evaluating submissions, preparing metadata, and researching market trends. There may also be opportunities to assist in copyediting and production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and document minutes of Editorial meetings
• Conduct backup reads on submissions for editors
• Create metadata for both frontlist and backlist titles
• Perform market research for new book acquisitions
• Prepare cover design briefs for titles
Requirements:
• Must be a recent graduate in a related discipline
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
