Laboratory Technologist I

Note: This is a 0.7 nights position, 7 on, 7 off rotation. Reporting to the Senior Technologist and under the director of the Supervisor or Manager, this position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in Hematology. Performs, records and reports diagnostic procedures in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures to ensure a high quality, accurate and timely result. Identifies unusual or abnormal findings and alerts Senior Technologist/Hematopathologist. Performs and documents quality control and assurance programs. Operates, maintains, and performs troubleshooting on a variety of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal function. Assists with maintaining department supply inventory and re‑orders as required. May participate in the validation and assessment of procedures and equipment under the direction of the senior technologist, supervisor or manager.
