Responsibilities
The lawyer's role is within the rural unit of the Southwest Finland vitality center, which among other tasks grants and pays out structural, project, and business support included in the rural development program, makes environmental agreements, manages the organic production support system, and supervises the land area‑based support for farmers granted by the municipalities' YT areas and the vitality center. The unit is also responsible for broader implementation of agricultural policy in the region. The rural unit employs approximately 75–80 staff depending on seasonal variations. The lawyer's duties include acting as a legal expert for the rural units, advising and consulting staff. Other responsibilities involve handling recoveries and follow‑up actions related to supports granted and paid by the vitality center and previous ELY‑centers, processing appeals against decisions made by the vitality center and municipal rural authorities, and preparing st...
