Metadata Specialist
Job Title: Metadata Specialist – Full‑time (35hrs/week), based primarily on campus. Eligible for Mount Royal University’s hybrid work program with up to one remote workday per week.
Reporting to the Manager, Collections & Content, the Metadata Specialist contributes to the development of metadata guidelines, projects, and initiatives in support of the Library’s Strategic Directions. They proactively identify opportunities to improve metadata, cataloguing, and resource discovery processes and propose solutions in consultation with the Manager and the Collections Services team. The role requires a high level of understanding of the collections and scholarly communications lifecycle in an academic environment and a collaborative, innovative approach to metadata to support the teaching and research needs of the campus community.
