Job Summary:
The Payroll Generalist will perform a variety of tasks to include payroll support to the New York State and Research Foundation payroll systems.
Responsibilities:
+ Prepare and process complex payroll transactions and related documents.
+ Answer standard payroll questions, and provide payroll customer service to agency employees by applying policies, rules and regulations issued by the Office of the State Comptroller, the Department of Civil Service and the Division of the Budget.
+ Will process payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, job title and department/division transfers, or other information as needed.
+ Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments and other such liabilities as necessary.
