Principal Flute – Tapiola Sinfonietta
Join the city orchestra Tapiola Sinfonietta as the Principal Flute.
Default responsibilities: The principal together with the sub‑principal leads the section with courageous and visionary example in co‑operation with the concertmasters and other section leaders. The principal is responsible for the flute ensemble playing, ensuring the parts are divided evenly among the section’s players and maintaining soloistic preparedness. The duties also include playing auxiliary instruments: piccolo, alto flute, and wooden flute. Audience outreach and chamber music in smaller ensembles are a vital part of the Tapiola Sinfonietta’s activities.
Audition details: The selection will take place after the audition has finished. The audition is held in the Espoo Cultural Centre’s Tapiola Hall (Kulttuuriaukio 2, 02100 Espoo) on Monday September 7, 2026 starting at 9:00 am. Tuesday September 8, 2026 is also reserved for the audition.
