Corning Process Engineer – Optical Communications
Role Purpose: Ensure process control and stability by improving existing manufacturing processes and capabilities, participate in new processes for the manufacture of new products, lead manufacturing improvement initiatives, including variability reduction, defect reduction, process control improvement.
- Evaluate process cost, quality, and capability alternatives; institute continuous improvements to existing manufacturing operations through process automation/semi‑automation.
- Project work scope includes equipment selection (design, development), manufacturing installation, start‑up and acceptance (Pilot, Pre‑Pro Runs & EEM).
- Individual contributor and project work‑stream leadership responsibilities.
- Develop and update manufacturing process documentation (MPIs, VAs).
