The duties will involve primarily providing on-call coverage to the inpatient psychiatric unit at Stratford General Hospital, part of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA). This is a dedicated 15 bed adult inpatient unit staffed by a team of psychiatrists and hospitalists. In this role, the resident will be expected to see patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit, as well as provide consultation to other services. Responsibilities will also involve phone consultation with emergency medicine physicians, crisis team, and local family physicians. On occasion, the resident may be asked to provide pre-screened, one-time outpatient consultations for non-urgent cases.
Supervision
- Provide clinical guidance during on‑call responsibilities at Stratford General Hospital;
