Program Buyer Responsibilities
- Anticipate specific requirements for new programs – supplier technologies, geography, target costs – and ensure commodity panel strategy supports the program.
- Identify and consult suppliers from the agreed panel, manage supplier RFQs, negotiate or collaborate with Commodity Buyers in supplier negotiations and final selection.
- Track program‑phase performance: manage suppliers, compare costs to objectives, ensure quality, respect delivery deadlines, and support program‑phase reviews within the Faurecia PMS framework.
- Engage Series Buyers early, before the series phase.
- Manage mandated suppliers when requested and agreed with customers.
- Negotiate Engineering Change Requests.
- Lead the global steering and sourcing committee meetings, optimizing purchasing assumptions globally, selecting options with the best landed cost and performance.
