+ Position Summary
+ Under general direction, protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. Prevents illness and injury. Alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment. Advocates for patients and their families. Ensures all actions taken in carrying out responsibilities support patient centered care.
+ Provides direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, performs technical nursing functions, and upholds the standards of practice of a professional nurse.

+ Participates in precepting and mentoring while providing education / orientation to staff, students, and others.
+ Performs related work per orientation and position competency checklists and skills validation.
+ Performs other assigned duties.
+ Utilizes critical thinking and evidence-based practice to facilitate the nursing process in the provision of patient care.
