Position Summary
The Spiritual Care Practitioner is an integral member of the interdisciplinary health care team, providing compassionate, patient‑centered spiritual care across assigned clinical areas. The role focuses on supporting the spiritual, emotional, cultural, and faith‑based needs of patients, families, and staff, while respecting diverse beliefs and traditions.
Duties
- Provide direct spiritual care to patients, families/friends and staff at UHN within assigned areas, ensuring their spirituality and/or faith traditions are respected
- Participate in professional development/educational activities/programs to ensure excellence in the provision of spiritual care services
- Perform other responsibilities to ensure continued successful spiritual and religious care endeavors
- Perform cross-functional and other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned and/or required
