Support community health initiatives as an STBBI Peer Support Worker with MFN. Use your lived experiences to offer peer support and promote harm reduction strategies.
In this role, you will be integral to the STBBI Community Outreach Program. The Peer Support Worker will leverage personal experiences to foster strong peer networks, provide emotional support, and promote education and prevention strategies. Collaborating closely with health services will help enhance program effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess client needs and strengths
• Provide emotional support and active listening
• Advocate for referrals and health resources
• Attend community meetings to support members
• Utilize the Mobile Clinic for wellness checks
Requirements:
• Grade 12 or equivalent education
• Two years of experience or lived experience in Mental Health
• Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
• CPR and First Aid Certification
