Job Description

Position Summary

The course provides students with the opportunity to gain practical, hands‑on experience in a professional setting and apply their academic knowledge to real‑world situations and develop essential workplace skills.

Students enrolled in this course will spend a minimum of 40 hours and a maximum of 80 hours working for an external partner such as a non‑profit organization, government agency, or a company. Placements may be paid or unpaid.

To receive course credit, students are required to submit a written report to the course instructor, which contains a tangible representation of the work completed and reflection on personal and professional growth during the internship. There will also be irregular contact hours with the course instructor for placement preparation, check‑in, reflection, etc., and with the Community and Workplace Partnerships office on transferrable skills and professionalism.
