Department Overview

Auto Business Department is a new business unit launched in May 2019 in anticipation of the once-in-a-century revolution in the automotive industry, including MaaS and connected cars.
The Auto Business Department operates Rakuten Car, a platform that covers the entire car lifecycle. Within that, it holds the leading position in the car inspection service industry.
We will create new markets by leveraging Rakuten's assets such as car buying and selling, car inspection, parts purchasing, insurance, loans, memberships, and data, as well as partnerships with external parties.

The Business Management team acts as a hub, interacting with various departments, including management, sales, marketing, corporate functions, and development.

Position Details

The Business Management Group oversees a broad range of areas that form the organization's infrastructure, including business administration. Upon joining, you will be assigned a specific area of responsibility based on your aptitude.

Furthermore, there will be opportunities to showcase your talents with a view towards team management.

Specific Responsibilities

- Quality improvement based on Customer Support (CS) and Net Promoter Score (NPS) data for both affiliated stores and users

- Formulating operation flows for new service launches within the business division, including the management of outsourced operations

- Providing monitoring infrastructure for KPIs and P&L metrics (utilizing DOMO and SQL)

- Budgeting and forecasting, including the development of annual budget plans

- Managing management meetings within the company and business division

- Accounting tasks in collaboration with the Corporate Accounting Department

- Identifying and supporting the resolution of issues within the department

2 Mid-Career Hires (Sales & Accounting backgrounds), 4 New Graduates (transferred from Rakuten Ichiba & Rakuten Mobile)

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Possess strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards their work

- Have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience

Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following:

- Data analysis and/or P&L creation

- Business process improvement, design, and implementation

- Basic project management skills

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in business management or business planning within an operating company
