Digital Developer Position Our Client, a Global Tech firm, is seeking a Digital Developer to join their team in Cape Town or Johannesburg on a contract basis. The Digital Developer is tasked with providing expertise in designing, developing, and testing software systems, modules, or applications for software enhancements and new products, including cloud-based or internet-related tools. Incumbents within this job provide expertise in detailed design for certain modules/sub-systems, prototype for multi-vendor infrastructure, and showcase it internally or externally to clients. Design and develop functionality in a micro-services environment working with APIs, telemetry data, and running ML/AI algorithms on it, working with both structured and unstructured data. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Create and develop solutions and functionality that drives the growth of business. Responsible for writing and testing code. Own the execution of automated testing. Advise on software deployment. Work cross-functionally to deliver software components while collaborating with the product team. Design and integrate solutions through automation and coding, using third-party software. Create, craft, and debug large-scale distributed systems. Lead on writing, updating, and maintaining the technical program, end-user documentation, and operational procedures. Responsible for refactoring code. Advise on the reviewing of code written by other developers. Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes: Digital experience. Experience in the insurance (short-term or life) or financial services industry is advantageous. Client Background: Custom built solutions (not off the shelf). Understanding of back-end integration. Explore new technologies. Require adaptable individuals who can work in unstructured environments. Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject. Leading SAFe certification.
