The Role
You'll be responsible for:
You'll transform competitor ads and viral social content into high-performing paid-ad scripts. Using AI-assisted analysis and structured research, you'll identify why certain videos work, find parallel organic trends, and rewrite them into new scripts tailored to Growjoy's clients.
Competitor & Trend Research
- Monitor top-performing Meta and TikTok ads in the finance and info-product space using the Meta Ad Library, TikTok search filters, and other tools.
- Transcribe high-performing ads and analyse them using AI (e.g. ChatGPT) to uncover why they perform well and what emotional/structural triggers drive engagement.
- Ask AI for related organic search terms (e.g. "What viral videos should I look for on IG/TikTok to repurpose this idea?") and locate recent, highly-liked examples.
- Filter, catalogue, and tag promising angles for reuse.
Ad Script Creation
- Convert research findings into clear, persuasive ad scripts suitable for UGC-style, talking-head or short-form video.
- Follow Growjoy's creative SOP—include intro hook, problem, emotional pivot, offer framing, and CTA.
- Produce multiple variations per concept (short/long form, alternate hooks).
- Maintain compliance-safe tone appropriate for finance and business offers.
Creative Collaboration & Iteration
- Work closely with Growjoy's creative strategists and editors to align copy and visuals.
- Supply concise briefs describing tone, pacing, and visual cues.
- Iterate based on performance feedback (CTR, watch-time, CVR).
- Maintain an organised archive of winning scripts and associated performance notes.
General
- Operate within Growjoy's structured creative process: weekly creative reviews, shared concept sheets, and performance-based iteration.
- Work 3–5 hours/day, flexible within the SAST time zone.
- Communicate daily progress via Slack and maintain a tidy concept tracker.
The Person
- Facebook Ad Experience:
Proven track record writing DR ads that delivered strong business results on platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram). Must be willing to share specific, performed work examples and the actual performance metrics (e.g., CPA, CVR) they achieved. - Trend-savvy creative:
Constantly tracks viral TikTok and Meta content and understands what makes audiences stop scrolling. - Analytical storyteller:
Blends data-driven insights with emotional hooks to craft compelling, conversion-focused copy. - Curious and adaptive:
Loves experimenting with new formats, testing angles, and iterating based on performance feedback. - AI-empowered researcher:
Comfortable using AI tools (like ChatGPT) to analyse, deconstruct, and repurpose high-performing ads. - Organised multitasker:
Efficiently manages multiple ad concepts, maintains an archive of winning scripts, and keeps research well-documented. - Collaborative communicator:
Works seamlessly with strategists and editors, providing clear briefs and constructive feedback loops. - Finance-fluent marketer:
Understands or is eager to learn the tone, compliance needs, and audience psychology specific to finance and info-product offers
Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: R500 - R600 per hour for 44 hours per month
Through Marketing Pros, the successful candidate will have access to a shared workspace in Cape Town, a Slack group with other South Africa-based marketing professionals, and regular social and training events.
