We are recruiting an EHS Officer to support a major construction projects across Finland , ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management on site.

Role Overview

The EHS Officer will be a key member of the project and EHS teams, supporting the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental systems across construction sites. You will assist with inspections, audits, training, and reporting while working closely with site management to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local HSE legislation and company procedures
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of risk assessments and method statements
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site teams and subcontractors
  • Support the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near-misses, contributing to reports and corrective actions
  • Ensure safety signage, PPE, and emergency arrangements are in place and adhered to on site
  • Assist in the implementation of site-specific Construction Health and Safety Plans
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support environmental management activities including waste segregation, pollution prevention, and environmental controls
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, including permits, inspection records, incident logs, and audit reports
  • Support site visits and inspections from regulatory authorities when required
  • Assist with safety performance reporting and improvement initiatives
  • Support and mentor Graduate EHS Advisors and Student EHS placements where applicable
  • Provide HammerTech support and guidance for site teams
  • Assist with ISO audits and ESG / sustainability initiatives, including tender and pre-qualification support
  • Participate in internal meetings with project teams and management regarding EHS performance

Candidate Requirements

  • Working knowledge of EHS regulations, risk assessment processes, and hazard identification
  • Experience supporting incident investigations and basic root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with EHS management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to maintaining high safety standards
  • Construction site experience in a similar EHS / H&S role is desirable
