My client is expanding its South African operations and is seeking several
Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE)
. This is a unique "umbrella" role designed for technical professionals with backgrounds in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Business Data Analysis. The role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be embedded with clients to bridge the gap between technical architecture and business value. You will write code, deploy solutions, and iterate quickly on ambiguous challenges. Your work will involve designing production-grade pipelines, ontologies, and analytical workflows within a high-stakes environment.

The essential requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience working within a
  consultancy or client-facing technical delivery role.
• Proven experience in
  data/analytics engineering, software engineering,
  or
  data business analysis
  .
• Strong professional proficiency in
  SQL and Python
  .
• A track record of building, deploying, and refining production-grade data or software solutions.
• Ability to communicate technical risks clearly to stakeholders in a remote-first team.

What will make you stand out

• Technical experience with
  Palantir Foundry (pipelines, transformations, or ontologies) is highly advantageous.
• Experience with TypeScript, PySpark, or specialized AI/LLM modules (AIP).
• Active certifications in enterprise data platforms.
• Experience modernizing operations in sectors like Energy, Telecom, or Healthcare.
