Governance & Control Manager
Job Description
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Ensure proper accounting, health of balance sheet and P&L
+ Oversee implementation of controls framework, controls testing plan and execution, co-lead governance & control agenda with Market Finance Director and GM
+ Own relationship with Mars Global Services Finance (MGSF) - Work with MGSF to ensure adherence to accounting standards and accuracy of accounting information for the units within the Regional
+ Lead accounting for special projects, transformations, and other ad hoc business requests
+ Partner with non-finance functions at unit level that may impact finance (e.g., sales, supply)
+ Use expertise to interpret accounting practices, assess impact and enforce compliance
+ Ensure timely delivery of accurate and complete financial information for the units within the regional scope
+ Conduct structured analysis/reconciliation of financial statement/management reports
+ Review and approve periodic, quarterly and annual financial accounts for all units within the regional scope
+ Ensure all other financial and operational aspects of the business are compliant with local, federal, and global regulations, and effectively manage risk (e.g. tax, audits, insurance, etc.)
+ Support the implementation of new systems or business models

1. Education & Professional Qualification
+ University degree in Accounting (Required)
+ CPA or other professional certification (Preferred)
+ Graduate level degree (Preferred)
+ 3-5 years of accounting experience (Required)
+ HFM and SAP Experience or Equivalent ERP system (Preferred)
+ Experience with financial statement reporting obligations, including an understanding of US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
2. Knowledge/Experience
+ Strong accounting and finance background with track record of delivering results
+ Digitally savvy, with strong user and problem-centric approach
+ Good analytical skills and ability to interpret finance results
+ Good policy, process, and control-orientation and experience with the ability to drive standards
+ Good written and verbal communication skills
+ Presence in front of senior leadership
