Job Description
Based: Java, Indonesia (may require travel throughout the country)
Contract: Fixed-term, subject to annual performance review
Salary range and benefits: USD 800–1,000 per month, commensurate with experience

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF), one of the world’s leading non-profit organisations operating at the intersection of environmental protection and human rights. The Field Researcher will support EJF’s work in Indonesia by contributing to broad research activities related to fisheries governance, labour conditions, and environmental protection. Working closely with the Field Research Manager and the wider research team, the role will involve engaging in various field-based activities and engaging with communities and stakeholders to help deliver on EJF’s campaign objectives.
The successful candidate will assist in interview data collection and analysis - ensuring that such information is accurate and appropriately managed. They will also be expected to formulate written outputs based on interview findings to further EJF’s objectives in Indonesia. The Field Researcher will join a committed team in Indonesia and collaborate with EJF colleagues globally. The team works to promote transparency, good governance, and improved stewardship of marine resources.
