The purpose of this role is to Administer matters related to Mineral Rights, Permitting, and Property through an effective record-keeping system and assistance in accessing information on applications, registrations, property transactions, and permits management. Proactively provide high-level administrative support to the Mineral Rights team.

Job Description
-As our Permitting Practitioner your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Safety, Health, and Environment
- Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental practices and requirements.
SHE policies and procedures:
Escalate all unsafe practices or risks to the direct supervisor/manager.
Performance and Delivery
Departmental Support:
Provide support to the Principal and Specialist(s) Mineral Rights with the implementation of standards and processes associated with permit management and property transactions:
Manage the department's physical and electronic filing system(s).
- Maintain systems management for property transactions and permitting, and track the acquisition of permits for both sites and projects.
- Support Specialist(s) to monitor compliance by sites and Permit Owners with permits' conditions and commitments, and ensure action close-out by Permit Owners.
- Support the team with permit administration processes defined in the Permitting Procedure.
- Support team with implementing and embedding the Minimum Permitting Requirements and Permitting Standard.
- Assist with data capturing to inform permitting schedules in SORD.
- Assist with maintaining the consolidated Permit Registers for the business (sites and projects)
- Support the implementation and delivery of annual action plans.
Systems and Data Administration:
Maintain the IT tool(s) being used (or to be used): Isometrix, SORD and LandFolio:
Data verification and ensuring dashboards are up to date.
- Attend to proactive and accurate data capturing on IT Tools.
- Ensure accurate and timeous capturing of all the permits, permit conditions and commitments and regulatory reports on Isometrix and SORD.
- Ensure that permit owners create actions against the permit conditions and commitments and that these are implemented.
- Follow up with permit owners on the implementation of conditions and commitments.
Monitor and ensure timely permit renewal processes.
Uploading all title deeds and property transaction documents on LandFolio.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of data before system entry.
- Ensure that data entry is timely and follows established protocols, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct routine data reviews to identify and rectify discrepancies.
- Assist in analysing data to derive insights relevant to mineral rights, permitting, and property-related activities.
- Assist in the migration of data between systems or platforms.
- Collaborate with IT support if technical issues arise.
- Collaborate with the Group on system enhancements.
Reporting:
- Assist and compile timeous reports on the status of rights' commitments and obligations.
- Responsible for meeting minutes and keeping action logs.
- Assist with compiling monthly, timely reports for Group Permitting.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organised records related to mineral rights, permitting, and property transactions.
- Maintain accurate and organised records for all data, including historical records.
- Facilitate easy retrieval of relevant information when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of data.
- Ensure safe storage of title deeds and other hard copies relevant to the discipline.
Compliance:
- Adhere to Anglo American requirements within the work area and external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) requirements related to the discipline.
This role is in the Corporate Affairs (COR) department on a band 8.7 level reporting to the Principal Mineral Rights & Permitting.
Qualifications
- -Relevant Higher National qualification in business administration or environmental management on NQF5.
- A paralegal qualification will be advantageous.
- SA Drivers Licence
Technical Knowledge
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in administration in Mineral Rights and Permitting Management or a related discipline in a mining environment.
- Administering licenses and permits.
- Knowledge of the mining industry.
- Foundational knowledge of mining and environmental laws and related legislation.
