Project Manager Asset Management
Location: Auckland, Wellington and/or Christchurch

At the Ministry of Justice – Te Tāhū o te Ture – we play a critical role in supporting safe, modern, and resilient justice services across Aotearoa. We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager to help shape the future of our national property maintenance and facilities management services. You will work in collaboration with different teams, driving project delivery from concept through to completion, ensuring strategic alignment with the Ministry's goals
* Plan, execute, and monitor a selected range of projects related to asset renewal and building condition.
* Monitor project budgets, track expenditure, and ensure financial accountability.
* Identifying and reviewing process improvement and contract requirements to inform future service delivery and cost reduction opportunities across the property portfolio
* Develop scoping briefs and user requirements to support future facilities contracts
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including judiciary, to ensure contract alignment with Ministry objectives.
This position will suit someone with strong experience in contract management, facilities management, building services, or asset operations, with the ability to assess performance, identify improvements, and influence future service models.

To be successful in the role you will have:
* Solid experience in the industry of building construction, and infrastructure, with a strong understanding of project management and contract principles
* Experience in developing and maintaining detailed project processes and plans, using project management methodologies and tools (e.g: Agile, PRINCE 2, Procurement tools )
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience in developing relationships with partners and stakeholders to ensure that expectations are being fulfilled and managed, and that the projects are delivering the anticipated outcomes.
* Strong experience in contract or service management within the property, facilities, or building sector
* A sound understanding of All of Government project management principles is desirable but not essential
* An understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Maori.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
The appointing salary for this role will be between $112,766 and $154,680 based on skills and experience.
