We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee Civil Construction projects in the Manawatu region. This pivotal role involves managing and leading project delivery to ensure work is completed profitably, compliantly, and efficiently. You'll enjoy variety and challenge while having the opportunity to make a significant impact. The role requires excellence in people leadership and staff development, managing important stakeholder relationships, and taking responsibility for both operational and financial outcomes.
In addition to the above you will:
- Set project estimates for resource use and cost, manage the project to meet or exceed margins / profit
- Ensure jobs are carried out to job specifications, company policies and relevant legislation, codes and regulations
- Maintain customer / client relationships and find innovative ways to add value to our customers and meet expectations
- Subcontractor and Supplier Management
- Prepare a specific programme to achieve the construction dates and milestones
- Lead and champion Fulton Hogan best practices, work procedures, health and safety, environment and quality procedures, customer relationship management on all projects

We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 5 years’ experience overseeing the successful delivery of projects within the Civil Construction industry
- Holds a relevant tertiary qualification (such as a Bachelor of Engineering) or has equivalent practical experience
- Possesses a full Class 1 driver's licence
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage strong client relationships
- Well-developed financial management skills
- Extensive experience in project costing, including materials, labour, plant, and associated margin/profit calculations
- Sound understanding of fundamental engineering principles in line with best practice for NZ Civil
- Knowledgeable of NZS 3910, Construction Contracts Act, and NEC Contracts; currently pursuing CCS training as a Project Management tool
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
