Optotune Switzerland AG is a strongly growing and internationally active optics company based in Zurich, Switzerland. We develop, manufacture and market the latest generation of adaptive optical elements for industrial and consumer markets. Optotune’s vision is to enable our customers to create innovative products by providing them with unique optical components. To strengthen our M&S team in Asia, we are looking for a Sales Manager located in Japan.Liquid lenses are the flagship product line at Optotune and the very first product which has been developed and patented. As the technological advantage is becoming clearer to a broader audience, the support to our customers is key to continue our growth. Your task is to take Optotune’s products (liquid lenses and optical actuators) sales to the next level by scaling up our core markets, finding new applications for existing products or developing new markets by acquiring development projects. As Sales Manager Japan you are going to support the company sales expansion and business development.
Tasks
Strengthen the relationships with existing key accountsAcquire new business in Japan and support the team in APACProvide feedback to product managementManage and foster local sales partnersSupport local marketing activities including several trade showsRequirements
Must have technical background (MSc or equivalent)At least 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in opticsDirect experience in Japan and with Japanese customers is a mustMarket knowledge in medical, microscopy, semiconductor or vision applicationsAbility to identify new customers, build up and maintain relationshipsAbility to understand customers’ technical requirements and suggest solutionsPassion for sales and marketing, friendly personality, well organized, autonomous and team playerExcellent knowledge of Japanese and English, any other Asian language is advantageousGood working knowledge in MS Office applicationsSAP and SAP CRM knowledge is a plusBenefits
