Senior Architect / Architectural Technician – Technical Lead
Dunedin | Full-Time | Permanent
$90,000 – $110,000 per year
McAuliffe Stevens Architects is seeking an experienced Architect or Architectural Technician to take a lead technical role on complex commercial projects across New Zealand. This is a hands-on position for someone technically strong, confident leading documentation and coordination, and comfortable supporting projects through construction.
The Role
Lead technical delivery of developed design and construction documentation
Ownership of drawings, schedules, specifications, and coordination
Consultant coordination and building consent documentation
Site observations, RFIs, and construction phase support
Maintain technical quality across assigned projects
What We’re Looking For
5–10+ years NZ experience in commercial architecture
Strong Archicad capability is essential
Solid understanding of NZBC, detailing, and consent processes
Experience with construction phase services
Confident, organised, and delivery-focused
