Job Description

Market monitoring & reporting of BAU's

Analyse palm oil production-related data (e.g. yield trends, replanting impact, weather patterns) to support outlook on supply fundamentals and guide internal market views. The role also includes responsibility for the smooth execution of daily business-as-usual operational reporting to ensure internal alignment and decision-making readiness. Track and analyse global developments in vegetable oil markets. Develop and publish regular market updates (daily & monthly) covering key indicators across major origins.

Supply and Demand Analyses

Maintain and update global vegetable oil supply and demand models (with specific focus to supply side). Collaborate with internal and external sources to enhance accuracy and transparency in market projections. Assist Head of Unit to generate short to medium term scenario analyses based on fundamentals and macroeconomics factors.

Stakeholder Engagement

Responsible in the preparation of market outlook for Board submission and other relevant. Liaise with industry players, data providers and internal stakeholder to gather market sentiment and intelligence. Support trading and commercial team with data-backed recommendations. Participate in key industry events to remain abreast on market happenings. Provide ready access to all data / information / reports on Market Research and Strategy for easy accessibility.

Digital & Automation Initiatives

Support digital transformation projects related to market analytics and data consolidation. Enhancement of analytical capabilities by leveraging on AI tools, machine learning, etc. to gain market insights.

Ideal Candidate

• Data Science background
• Knowledge in commodity markets
• Knowledge in trading
• Programming ability (e.g. Python or any other programme languages)
• Knowledge in Machine Learning (e.g. R)
• Experience with Data Analytics, Automation and Power BI
• Minimum 2 years working experience
• Fresh graduates encouraged to apply
