Tandoori Chef
Job Description
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Prepare and marinate meats, seafood and vegetables according to standardized recipes
+ Operate and manage tandoor ovens, charcoal grills and related equipment
+ Cook tandoori items, kebabs, breads (naan, roti) and appetizers to perfection
+ Ensure correct portioning, taste, texture and presentation of all dishes
+ Monitor cooking temperatures and charcoal/fire levels
+ Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the tandoor area and equipment
+ Follow food safety, HACCP and kitchen hygiene standards
+ Assist in menu planning and development of new tandoor and kebab items
+ Control food wastage and maintain proper storage of raw materials
+ Coordinate with kitchen team for smooth service during peak hours
+ Train and supervise junior cooks or kitchen helpers when required
**Skills & Qualifications**
+ Proven experience as a Tandoor or Kebab Chef
+ Strong knowledge of Indian, Mughlai and local cuisine
+ Expertise in spice blending, marinades and grilling techniques
+ Ability to work under high-pressure kitchen environments
+ Good knife skills and understanding of meat cuts
+ Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
+ Physically fit to handle high heat and long-standing hours
**Experience**
+ Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a professional kitchen specializing in tandoor, kebabs and local food
**Working Conditions**
+ Hot kitchen environment
+ Shift-based work including weekends and holidays
