Department Overview
The department is responsible for a wide range of activities, including managing one of the largest senior-focused platforms in the industry, the "Rakuten Senior" app and web services, the health media platform "Raku-Ken," large-scale senior events, and collaborative projects with national and local governments.
One of our strengths is having various touchpoints with senior users through our in-house services.
You will have the opportunity to experience the entire process, from planning and formulating business strategies, designing and executing initiatives, to operating and improving services.

Position Details
Rakuten Senior aims to enrich the lives of the senior generation through services tailored to their needs. In this position, you will lead the end-to-end UX design process for Rakuten Senior's products and services, from upstream planning to execution. By utilizing the Human-Centered Design (HCD) process, you will deeply understand the characteristics and needs of the senior demographic and promote user-centered design with a focus on accessibility. Additionally, you will leverage design guidelines from Google and Apple to improve UX and UI, contributing to enhanced business outcomes, user satisfaction, and loyalty.

Mandatory Qualifications:

We welcome candidates who meet the following criteria:
- 3+ years of professional experience in UX or UI design
- Experience utilizing the Human-Centered Design (HCD) process in design
- Proven track record of contributing to business outcomes (e.g., improved conversion rates, retention rates, or user satisfaction) through UX/UI improvements
- Knowledge and practical experience in accessibility (e.g., WCAG, ARIA, color vision accessibility)
- Experience designing based on Google’s Material Design and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines
- Experience in planning and conducting user research and usability testing
- Proficiency in wireframe and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
- Experience creating user journeys and personas
- Experience building and managing design systems
- Experience proposing UX improvements based on data analysis
